I am an ardent lover of wild tree shrubs and the silver oaks are my most valued trees --for their aesthetic beauty to their utility at maturity . I currently have over 100 of them ; some in my farm on the slopes of Mt Kenya and here in Ngong .

I would wish to plant sandal wood too on 0.5 acre of my land . I would also wish to assist with replenishing the silver oak trees in your sanctuary . How can we cooperate along these two interests which I do not find to be diverse ?

I have traveled the roads of Kenya, visited towns and am appalled by the trash everywhere. I understand that there is NO landfills there like we have in the United States (which by the way are really getting 'filled' no pun intended) to bury the trash.
Burning trash, especially plastics, emit toxic fumes and is definitely not safe for environment.

Is there any recycling of glass, plastics, paper in Nairobi? I don't know what people outside Nairobi and way out in the bush can do. It's sad to drive by and see all the trash littering the roads, plastic bags hanging from trees, in the bushes. Not safe for the animals either.

I don't have any solutions, but just wanted to comment. But people should have pride in their neighbor's don't you think?
